Puyo stories
July 18 – 30, 2023
11:00am~7:00pm(Last day ~5:00pm)
Geoffrey Bouillot
I am Puyo, the soul of the child I once was.
Through my black and white paintings, I invite you to dive into the memories that have shaped my life, to relive the magical moments of my childhood that still resonate within me. Each canvas you will discover in this exhibition is an open window into a part of myself. I am a football player, an artist, a card collector… Every aspect of my past is represented, capturing the moments of joy, passion, and exploration that have nourished my spirit.
When I paint, I rediscover that innocence.
Through my artworks, I strive to awaken the child that slumbers within each of us, to reignite the flame of carefree spirit and creativity.
For you see, the child we once were never truly dies.
The memories of that special period in our lives continue to accompany us, to influence us, to remind us of who we truly are.
It is with this deep conviction that I have created “Puyo stories.”

French born artist in Chalon-sur-Saône (Burgundy) Geoffrey Bouillot, currently lives and works in Japan.
His work is evidently informed by these two cultures, and examines a unique dynamic of pop art, cubism, and Italian futurism.
Bouillot is adept at portraiture and interiors.
Bouillot’s work typifies contemporary art culture.
It is clean, fresh and chic.
His monochromatic designs burgeon an eclectic blend of minimalism and the ethereal.
The cultural influences include remnants of Manga, with subjects and composition meticulously separated with clean lines and play on light, achieving harmony and balance between the artists other influential styles; cubism and pop art.
The mastery in conjoining such diverse genres is an accomplishment, particularly considering this is achieved using only monochrome hues.
It has been said of his work,
“Composed of metallic-like stacking cylindrical and spherical forms, each character morphs nostalgic cartoons into unfamiliar forms, speaking to a collision of culture –from the ancient to the deep future.”
