MEDEL GALLERY SHUでは9月20日（火）より10月2日（日）まで、イラン・テヘラン在住の新進気鋭のアーティストVERTCHYの日本初個展「Super Reality」を開催いたします。
1994年生まれのSimin Ghoroghchianは「VIRTUAL」と「VERITY」に起因するブランド名「VERTCHY」とそのアイコンを作り上げ、独自にブランディングしている女性アーティストです。
インスタグラムのフォロワーは16万人を超え、テヘラン、フランクフルト、ニューヨーク、ミシガン、パリ、ロサンゼルス、サウスカロライナ、ノルウェー、コペンハーゲンなど、多くの都市で作品のコレクターが存在します。その中にはアメリカや欧州のミュージシャン・DJ・音楽プロデューサー・アスリート・ニュースキャスターなどの著名人が含まれています。皆VERTCHYの虜になったようです。
VERTCHYは抑圧された環境において絵を描くことにより自己の存在理由を確認しながら過ごした幼少期を経て2012年にリヨンで初個展を開催し、その後、テヘラン・シカゴ・ローザンヌ・モナコと展示し、ソウルのアートフェアにも参加予定です（すでに30カ国以上で展示実績あり、2021年はKAWSと二人展を開催しています！）。
その作品は、ポップでキッチュでカラフルです。そして、世界の中心とも言えるインターネットとソーシャルメディアにおける独特なモチーフ〜絵文字〜で現代のファンタジーの世界を描いています。私たちの古い現実の定義では決してあり得なかったシーンです。
VERTCHYが活動開始以来、コレクションで主張してきた基本理念は、「現実の基準を変える」「バーチャルライフとインターネットを現代人の最高かつ共通の現実として認識する」ということでした。現代人のバーチャル・ライフは、いわゆる彼女／彼のリアルでフルタイムな日常的現実の存在よりも、より現実的で生きやすいものだと信じているのです。
ネットの世界にしか存在しない、この時代の特徴であるファンタジーでシュールな世界。情報やサービスの提供という独占的な役割から脱却し、エンターテインメントという使命を負い、現実をグレードアップしたインターネット空間。
VERTCHYにとって絵文字は、この新しい仮想現実における現実要素の置き換えを象徴しています。
本展の「スーパーリアリティ “には、ここ数年の間に制作した4つのコレクションが含まれています。すべてのペインティングで、私たちが昔定義した現実（物理的現実）では決して起こらないのに、インターネットやバーチャル世界のおかげで毎日体験している状況や考え方を表現しようとしています。10年前では味わえなかったようなファンタジーを、私たちは日常生活で体験しているのだと思います。
「スーパーリアリティ」では、私たちの誰もが、どこの国の人であろうと、それを生きているということを、アルファベットを介して、どんな言語であろうと、それを知っているということについて話しました！

“Super Reality” includes 4 collections that I worked on during the last years, in all my paintings I try to describe a situation or a mindset that would never happen in our old definition of reality (the physical reality) but we experience it every single day thanks to the internet and virtual world. actually, emojis are like the alphabet for me to explain how spaceless, limitless, and weird our reality in this decade is. I believe we are all living a level of fantasy in our everyday life that we hadn’t had any taste of it like even 10 years ago!
In “Super Reality” I talked about the subjects that every one of us no matter where we are living, via the alphabet every one of us no matter what our language knows it! so welcome to “Super Reality”!

私の作品は、近年、インターネットが日常生活に広く浸透し、その影響力によって現実の境界線が広がっていることを指し示しています。実際、私の名前の由来は「VIRTUAL」と「VERITY」から来ているので、顕在的な説明になっています。歴史上のすべての画家がそうであったように、私は風景画を制作しています。私の目標は、絵文字を使ってファンタジーの風景を描くことです。絵文字はこの時代の象形文字であり、世界中の人々が、どんな言語を持っていようと、どんな文化や場所に住んでいようと、幸せ、悲しみ、愛、そして雲、山、太陽などの自然の要素について同じ表現を持っていることは驚くべきことです…。だから、絵文字は新しい、国境を越えた普遍的な言語を作成しました。絵画が文脈を表すものならば、絵文字は言葉を表すものであり、一眼でわかるメッセージを込めています。
My art works point to broadening the borders of reality in recent years, thanks to the extensive and influential internet presence in everyday lives. In fact, my name comes from “VIRTUAL” and “VERITY”, so it’s a manifest explain.
Like all painters in the history, I make landscapes. My goal is to plot fantasy landscapes by using emojis. I believe they are the hieroglyphs of this age , and it’s amazing how all the world ‘s peoples, regardless of what language they have or what culture or location they are living in, have the same description of happiness , sadness , love , and natural elements like clouds, mountains , sun … . So, the emojis created a new and no borders universal language. If paintings represent context, pictographs represent words, with a message that can be understood with a single glance.
