井之口聡写真展 「日本の匠の現在」

井之口は1978年岡山県倉敷市児島生まれで、2000年に大阪芸術大学写真学科を卒業したのち、現在は職業カメラマンとして働きながら、ライフワークのように職人の世界を撮り続けています。
写真展を実現するにあたり、井之口聡の「職人たちの技をひとりでも多くの方に見て、知って欲しい」とのこだわりから、自ら職人たちと企画を進め、他ではなかなか出さない製品を展示するだけでなく、会場での即売も、実現させました。職人が生み出すものはただ見るだけの「作品」ではなく、手に取って使う「実用品」だからだと言います。写真展で ありながら「見て、触れて、買える」、まさに「日本の匠の現在」を凝縮しています。
受け継がれた技をしっかり守り続けている匠、
さらにその技に磨きをかける匠、
そして新たに生み出した技で可能性を切り拓く匠。
日本独自の職人たちに魅了され、その技を撮り続けている
写真家 井之口聡による初めての写真展です。
見ることのできない手仕事を目の当たりにすることで
その場の緊張感、息つづかいまでも、感じることができるはずです。
しかも今回の写真展では、
匠が生みだした製品も展示され、見て触れることができます。
他では買えない製品ですが、
今回は特別に、ご希望の方には、販売も行います。
写真鑑賞のみならず、職人の息遣いが聞こえてきそうな工芸品/製品も手にとってお楽しみください。
Satoshi Inokuchi was born in 1978 in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. After graduating from the Department of Photography at Osaka University of Arts in 2000, Inokuchi has worked professionally as a photographer while continuing to document the world of artisans as a lifelong project.
In realizing this exhibition, Inokuchi worked directly with the craftsmen themselves, driven by the belief that as many people as possible should see and learn about the techniques of these artisans. Together with the craftsmen, the project was developed so that not only rarely exhibited products could be displayed, but also made available for purchase at the venue.
According to the artisans, what they create are not simply “works” to be viewed, but practical objects meant to be held and used. Although this is a photography exhibition, visitors will be able to see, touch, and purchase the works, offering a condensed view of the present state of Japanese artisanship.
Artisans who carefully preserve techniques handed down through generations.
Artisans who continue refining and elevating those techniques.
And artisans who open new possibilities through innovations of their own making.
Captivated by the unique world of Japanese craftsmanship, photographer Satoshi Inokuchi has continued to document these skills and traditions. This exhibition marks the first presentation of that body of work.
By witnessing these otherwise unseen processes of handcraft up close, visitors may even sense the tension of the moment and the breath of the artisans themselves.
In addition to the photographs, products created by these craftsmen will also be exhibited and can be touched. Although these items are not normally available for purchase elsewhere, they will be offered for sale for this special occasion.
Visitors are invited not only to view the photographs but also to experience the craftsmanship itself by holding and appreciating the craftworks and products created by these artisans.

広告写真を撮るかたわら、生まれ育った岡山県児島のジーンズとそれを生み出す職人を撮り始めたことを切っ掛けに、自らのライフワークとすべく日本の匠を撮り続けている。「仕事場の空気を揺らさない、職人の呼吸を見つめる、そしてじっと待つ」という撮影手法こそ、写真家井之口聡だけの独自のもので、ありのままの職人を写し出すことを可能にしている。
